Cowley County, Kansas, has numerous stone bridges, many of which still serve their intended purpose, a stream crossing that doesn't require a long detour or a ford. Many of these bridges are on historical registers due to their unique arches and native rock building materials. The rendition of the stone bridge that appears below is an effort to commemorate these picturesque structures.
