Bit by Symbols
KU lost in the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament to the Bucknell Bisons last year and the Bradley Braves this year. Bisons and braves are symbols of Kansas. The bison embellishes the state's quarter. An Indian archer stands atop the state capitol. Hmmm. Is there a message here for Kansans? Are we doing something wrong so that our own symbols are conspiring against us? Let's hope next year, if we make the NCAA tourrnament, that the KU BB team doesn't get paired in the first round with another Kansas symbol.
