Connie Does D.C.
Connie Morris, former State Board of Education member, reported expenses of $2,339 for travel to Washington, D.C. for a conservative conference obstensibly about education that covered illegal immigration, English as the official language, science standards and the evolution debate, judicial activism, media bias, agriculture, federal office closures, faith-based initiatives and economic development, according to the Lawrence Journal-World. Well, 1 out of 8 topics that actually relate to education should mean a reduction in her reimbursement of about $2,050. And, considering that she only had three weeks left in her term when she took the trip, she should only keep about 1% of her payment, which would be less than $3. Heck, it wasn't worth the paperwork, so maybe she owes the State of Kansas money.
