Weather Programs

I don't know about you, but I'm fed up with TV weather programs. All I want from the weather person is a forecast for tomorrow. You know, will there be rain, what temperature is expected, will it be windy or not, or some other simple prognostication. What I don't want is to be a junior meteorologist. I don't care about a 'bow echo' or an anti-cyclone. If the weather looks bad, just tell me if I should prepare for high winds, hail stones, heavy rain or whatever. Tornadoes are something I want to know about. But, to know when to take shelter, I'll listen for the storm warning sirens, thank you. If there's a tornado watch or warning, just run a banner on the bottom of the TV screen to inform me of the threat. But whatever you do, don't interrupt important network programming, like a NBA play-off game, to prattle on endlessly about arcane features of the current radar images or a storm track. Don't TV people realize that emergency management personnel are at work and in contact with government severe weather forecast centers and a network of weather spotters. And that they have the capability of warning the public through storm warning sirens, cable TV emergency broadcast over-rides on all channels, local radio and TV announcements, weather radios, cruising police car sirens, telephone alert systems and other means. So, quit trying to impress me with your fancy technology and endless gab. Just the forecast, that's all I want.
